Career

Radio

Jason King has formerly presented for Sunshine 855 in Ludlow, Galaxy 101 in Bristol and 96.9 Viking FM in Hull, where he met, and was first paired on-air with, Joel Ross.

The pairing happened when Joel moved from the afternoon show he was hosting to join JK on breakfast. JK had become breakfast show host in 1998 after two years on the lunchtime slot, while also hosting a weekend dance music programme called "Club 969". The duo were the winners of three Sony Radio Academy Awards in 2005; a Gold for 'Breakfast Show Of The Year' and a Silver for 'Entertainment Show'. The pair later moved across the Pennines, up the M62 to another station in the Emap group, Key 103 in Manchester.

The pair presented the coveted UK Top 40 show and early breakfast slot (Mon - Thurs) on BBC Radio 1 from March 2005 to October 2007, but left the station on 11 October 2007 to concentrate on TV work, although they did have a spell presenting weekend breakfast on Virgin Radio.

He is not to be confused with ex Key 103 DJ of the same name.

He continued to work with Joel Ross, presenting 96.3 Radio Aire breakfast slot, JK and Joel at Breakfast. He also presented JK and Joel's Saturday Night Thing on some Bauer Place stations until July 2011.

In August 2011, JK and Joel had a guest stint on the Capital FM network.

Television

On television, JK and Joel have presented: "Playboyz", a fast-moving gadget series for Granada Men and Motors and "Motor Maniacs", a series dedicated to men obsessed with bikes and cars. Most recently, they have been the hosts of "Pure Soap" on BBC Three, a daily 30-minute live show looking at all things to do with soap operas. He has recently been presenting (with Joel), a programme shown on ITV called "Sing It Back". He also started presenting a children's TV programme called 'Hider in the House' and Escape from Scorpion Island. Both programs have been a massive success, frequently being the highest rated children's shows on television.

JK took part in the Channel 4 series "The Games" where he finished third. He recently appeared on "Celebrity Poker", but has since said that he "won't be appearing on any more reality shows as I've been on too many". For more information on his career visit the page dedicated to JK and Joel.

JK also took part in Celebrity Total wipe out and was the eventual winner
